Il Comune di San Benedetto del Tronto ha partecipato al terzo meeting del progetto comunitario “Joint SECAP,” che si è tenuto all’AURUM di Pescara il 22 e 23 ottobre. All’incontro hanno partecipato, oltre al Comune di San Benedetto del Tronto, i rappresentanti della facoltà di Architettura di UNICAM, in qualità di capofila di progetto, i rappresentanti del Comune di Pescara e della Regione Abruzzo e gli altri 5 partner di progetto provenienti dai territori Croati.

L'obiettivo principale del progetto Joint Secap è infatti quello aumentare le conoscenze delle autorità locali per sviluppare mirate capacità di adattamento climatico nelle zone costiere, per consentire loro di integrare le misure di adattamento climatico e adottare un approccio sovracomunale per migliorare le prestazioni di tali misure.

Durante i due giorni di lavoro i soggetti intervenuti hanno lavorato sulla promozione di strategie e strumenti per sostenere gli enti pubblici nell'ottimizzazione del processo di pianificazione di misure di adattamento ai cambiamenti climatici, con un uso più efficace delle risorse disponibili e di altre opportunità di finanziamento.

Il prossimo incontro è stato fissato per il mese di aprile 2020 proprio nella Città di San Benedetto del Tronto.

The City of San Benedetto del Tronto participated in the 3rd meeting on the Joint SECAP project, which was held on 22nd and 23rd October at the AURUM in Pescara.

During theese two working days, the participants worked to promote strategies and tools for the public bodies support in optimizing the process of planning measures for the climate change adaptation with a more efficient use of available resources and further funding opportunities.

The project methodology is based on local, regional and transnational collaboration, which will allow joint actions to be planned across borders in order to define global measures.

The main objective of the project is to elevate the awareness of local authorities to develop targeted climate adaptation capacities in coastal areas, enable them to integrate climate adaptation measures into existing SEAPs (or other plans) and adopt an approach beyond the muicipality level so to enhance the performance of such measures (Joint SECAP) and address objectives and problems defined by the Covenant of Mayors.

In addition to the City of San Benedetto del Tronto, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Architecture of UNICAM- as leading partner- representatives of the City of Pescara and Abruzzo Region and the other five project partners from the Croatian territories.
The next meeting has been scheduled in April 2020 in San Benedetto del Tronto.
