Il difficile momento che si sta attraversando non impedisce di lavorare già ora per progettare la società su nuovi principi, una volta che l'emergenza sarà finita.

Tra gli assi prioritari su cui dovrà muoversi questa riprogettazione del futuro, vi sarà senz’altro il turismo, che dovrà continuare a far muovere le persone, a stimolarne gli interessi e a curiosità, favorirne la rigenerazione fisica e mentale, ma sapendo che il rispetto degli ambienti e l'utilizzo consapevole delle risorse saranno parametri di riferimento da cui non si potrà più prescindere.

Per questo il Comune di San Benedetto del Tronto, assieme alle altre istituzioni partner di Italia e Croazia, continua ad attuare le fasi di “ARCA ADRIATICA”, il progetto di cooperazione territoriale tra Italia e Croazia finanziato dal programma comunitario INTERREG che ha l’obiettivo di sviluppare un prodotto turistico comune, basato sui principi di sostenibilità sociale ed ecologica che valorizzi, conservi, protegga e promuova il patrimonio culturale marittimo delle due sponde dell’Adriatico.

ll patrimonio marittimo è infatti un grande potenziale turistico non sfruttato per entrambi i Paesi, che sono ricchi di piccole e medie città costiere con la presenza di porti locali che, per la maggior parte, rappresentano autentici "tesori" di grande attrattiva potenziale, da valorizzare e preservare. Il turismo tematico è una tendenza crescente nel mondo e, contrariamente a quello massiccio finora dominante nell'area costiera di entrambi gli Stati, non è legato al periodo estivo. La cooperazione transfrontaliera moltiplica l'effetto, perché lo sviluppo comune garantisce una maggiore qualità, successo e scambio di turisti.

Tra le azioni previste dal progetto c’è la costituzione, in ogni realtà partner, di un “Centro di eccellenza”, ovvero un tavolo permanente di confronto tra tutti i soggetti pubblici e privati del territorio che si interessano del tema, capace di definire le linee strategiche sui cui muoversi per raggiungere gli obiettivi del progetto.

“Nel “Centro di eccellenza” della nostra Città abbiamo chiamato ad operare le migliori intelligenze operanti a San Benedetto del Tronto – dice l’assessore alla cultura e alle politiche comunitarie Annalisa Ruggieri - personalità singole o rappresentanti di enti pubblici e istituzioni associative culturali e sociali che, per cultura, esperienza, capacità di proposta, siano in grado di dare un contributo alla definizione delle azioni che costituiranno il cuore del progetto. In questi giorni abbiamo invitato tutti questi soggetti a compilare on line un questionario capace di restituirci un'idea sulla loro visione del turismo, com'è concepito oggi e su come vorrebbero fossero impostate le politiche turistiche di questa città per gli anni a venire. Le risposte saranno molto utili per definire un primo quadro di argomenti su cui, speriamo presto, si possa sviluppare un confronto diretto”.

The difficult times we are living in these days do not prevent us from working and planning the society on new principles once the emergency is over.

Among the priority axes on which this redesign of the future will have to work on, there is certainly the tourism, which will have to continue to move people, enliven their interests and curiosity, and encourage their physical and mental regeneration. Additionally, we must bear in mind that we can no longer disregard important benchmarks such as the respect of the environment and the conscious use of resources.

For this reason, the Municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto, together with the other partner institutions in Italy and Croatia, continues to implement the phases of "ARCA ADRIATICA", a project of territorial cooperation between Italy and Croatia financed by the INTERREG EU programme, which aims to develop a common tourist product, based on the principles of social and ecological sustainability that enhances, preserves, protects and promotes the maritime cultural heritage of both sides of the Adriatic.

The maritime heritage marks in fact a great unexploited tourist potential for both countries, which are rich in small and medium coastal cities with the presence of local ports which mainly represent authentic "treasures" of great potential attraction worth treasuring and preserving. The thematic tourism is a rising trend in the world and, unlike the massive tourism that has dominated the coastal area of both countries so far, it is not linked to the summer period. Cross-border cooperation multiplies the effects as joint development ensures higher quality, success and exchange of tourists.

Among the actions foreseen by the project there is the constitution, in each partner reality, of a "Centre of Excellence", that is a permanent table of comparison between all the public and private subjects of the territory that are interested in the subject, able to define the strategic lines on which to move in order to reach the objectives of the project.

“In the "Centre of Excellence" of our City we have called upon the best minds working in San Benedetto del Tronto - says the Councillor for Culture and Community Policies Annalisa Ruggieri – individuals or representatives of public bodies and cultural, social and associative institutions who, given their culture, experience and ability to propose, are able to make a contribution to the definition of the actions that will constitute the heart of the project. In these days we have invited all these subjects to fill in an online questionnaire able to give us an idea about their vision of tourism, how it is conceived today and how they would like the tourism policies of this city to be set for the years to come. The answers will be very useful to define a first framework of topics on which, we hope, we can soon develop a direct comparison".
